[Reporter Chen Hsin-li/Yunlin Report] The Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes reunion, but for many elderly people living alone, it is often a lonely time. This year, the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation Yunlin District once again joined hands with Chiao Hsin Enterprise to hold “Corporate Volunteer Day”, in which 12 colleagues transformed into grandchildren for a day and split into two groups to carry out care activities.

Six volunteers delivered Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to elderly residents, spreading festive warmth. Another group visited Grandma Chen’s home, enjoying a barbecue, a hearty meal, and karaoke, creating a long-awaited atmosphere of family reunion. After the event, volunteers continued delivering gifts, allowing the elderly to feel the care of society.
Huang Guanchang, CEO of the Fude Qiaoxin Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, stated that he hopes corporate generosity can reach every elderly person’s home, ensuring that Mid-Autumn Festival reunions extend beyond material gifts to include companionship.
The Huashan Social Welfare Foundation pointed out that Qiaoxin Enterprise has partnered with the foundation for three consecutive years, delivering over 2,500 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts and combining home delivery services to bring warmth to elderly people living alone.
Qiaoxin Enterprise has long supported charitable causes, not only donating Mid-Autumn Festival gifts annually but also providing venues for Huashan to host courses and activities and encouraging employees to participate in service.
The Huashan Social Welfare Foundation thanked Qiaoxin Enterprise for its long-term support and called on more companies to join in the act of giving love, accompanying elderly people living alone in remote corners of society, ensuring they are not lonely during the festival.
The Huashan Social Welfare Foundation, adhering to the principle of “combining local love and care for local elderly,” has established 402 “Love Angel Stations” in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, providing free services such as holiday care, medical accompaniment, and in-bed bathing to 30,000 elderly people who are disabled, have dementia, or are without family support.
Huashan calls on the public to support the “Sending Love Home” program by making small donations: NT$1,250 per person per month; NT$15,000 per person per year. Regular, fixed-amount donations can stably support one elderly person’s in-home service, ensuring that the lives of lonely elderly people are not lonely. The hotline is (05)551-8925.
